Dan’s life outside of mountain biking was unique and varied. He was a teacher, swimming coach, family therapist, and a civilian in the Coast Guard.
He became involved in volunteering for many areas regarding protecting the Forest, trail work and design and a Board Member for both the Verde Valley Cyclists Coalition and the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund.
He was instrumental in obtaining the first sizable grant of $56,000 from the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, after helping to explain the importance of the trails to the overall economy of the tourism industry for Sedona.
One of his current passions is making sure the Circle Trail becomes a reality in the years to come.
Always ready to help, his input for important forest issues is invaluable.
Please help me honor Dan on his award!
