Come join us on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21st 2012 … for this two-day, double-dose event of bike riding FUN & FUNdraising. This annual charity road-riding tour, sponsored by ABSOLUTE BIKES, will allow participants to cycle throughout the majestic rock formations of Sedona and the scenic high desert landscape of the Verde Valley of Northern Arizona. This year’s event will include a different metric century road ride each day, in addition to shorter less strenuous alternatives. These varying ROUTES will allow participation by cyclists of all ages & riding ability. There will be SAG support, rest stops, and maybe even an after-ride massage waiting for you. We are very pleased that this year’s beneficiaries of funds raised will be the Big Park Community School Parent Teacher Student Association and the All American Road Foundation. Funds raised will be going back into education for the children and improved cycling facilities for the area. How can you get any better than that? Accept our invitation to join us for this charity road bicycling event in one of the most scenic bike riding areas of the country. This is RED ROCK COUNTRY!

The long wait is over. The VVCC Club jerseys have arrived … and, if I do say so myself, look great! See the attractive jersey model, David Singer, in the photos. I’ll bring the jerseys to the Saturday Morning VOC/Sedona Road Ride this week, 8/18, for distribution to anyone that wants to pick up their jersey. I’ll be handing them out between 7:30am-8:00am. I’ll also be at the RED ROCK CAFÉ next to IGA Webers Grocery Store between 10:30am-12:00 noon or so after the ride. We’ll also make arrangements to coordinate a pick-up in Cottonwood for sometime next week. Those details to follow. Anyone else that wants to make special arrangements, just let me know. I’m happy to help. Ride in style!

to the Highline pedestal and back down to Slimshaddy to Templeton to Coconino and
back to Slim again, returning to the shop for pizza and brew.

Hangover gets looked over by the Archaeologist

I spent a few hours out of my morning taking     FS archaeologist Jeff Charest out on The           Hangover Trail. As many of you know Hangover  has been in the assessment process for adoption into the FS system. Lets hope the report looks good and also hope that this image of Jeff awards him a hefty supply of Nature Valley Granola Bars through a contest of where you can take your granola bar.
